What I am Reading
I am so glad that I decided to read this! It is an incredible book! It is Audre Lorde’s life story… her autobiography, I am completely pulled in. It is so vivid for me… it’s like I am in her world. It’s hard for me to put this book down!
Weekend Wrap Up
We celebrated my husband’s birthday Saturday he is a Cancer (Zodiac sign), some family came over and surprised him! We had great food and a great time! My birthday is in two weeks… it is on the 31st. I watched an excellent documentary Saturday about Zora Neale Hurston on PBS on show called American Masters. I recorded it I think a month ago and just finally watched it. I learned a lot of things that I did not know about her. Now I want to read There Eyes are Watching God. The documentary gave an amazing perspective on the book. I have had that book sitting on one of my book shelves for a long time. Also on Saturday I watched a great special on CNN called Daughter’s of Legacy. The daughters of Martin Luther King Jr., Sidney Poiter, Malcom X, Muhammed Ali, and Johnnie Cochran spoke about how it is to be the daughters of those great men. Sunday I lounged around the house and enjoyed my family.
